Reflection Activity

- Give students a few minutes to complete the Thinking Organizer.
Listening Activity
- Ask students to help choose which genre to listen to next. Listen to as many as time allows.
- As they listen/watch, have students use one piece of paper to record (in words or drawings) their impressions of the music and what they notice about the songs, genre, singers, stories, lyrics, and the instruments (drum, rattle, flute).
- After each recording/video ask a different student to share something that they added to their paper.
Lesson Closure
√ Distribute Exit Ticket
- Ask students to turn to a neighbor and share their page of notes and drawings, and then give their neighbor at least one connection they have to their partner’s work.
- Give students a few minutes to complete Exit Ticket and collect it as they leave class.
Homework Assignment
- Give students the Music Vocabulary Assignment OR the ADVANCED Music Vocabulary Assignment sheet to complete.
