"The Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina is composed of three autonomous bands — Maxton Longhouse, Prospect Longhouse, and Saddletree — who act together as one people. Historically, Tuscarora communities lived in dispersed but united villages across great distances. Today, our communities are spread across Robeson County. We include the name “North Carolina” to distinguish ourselves from our relatives in New York and Six Nations, Ontario — but we are older than North Carolina. We are older than America.
