9 Tribes of Oregon Jigsaw
- This jigsaw is a learning strategy where groups of students split up to research information, and then come back together to share what was learned..
- In groups of 3 or pairs of 2, students will research the 9 Federally Recognized Tribes of Oregon using tribal websites.
- Each group will be assigned a tribe and fill out a graphic organizer with information gathered from tribal websites, including:
- Location in present day Oregon
- Traditional Language
- Tribal Members
- Customs
- Facts about the past
- Facts about the present and future.
- After research, students will present their knowledge gained about each tribe.
Focus: using present tense verbs, navigating a website, teamwork, and public speaking.
